Naloxone (or NARCAN®) is a safe and effective medicine used to aid adults and children in the event of a suspected or known opioid overdose. It can temporarily reverse the effects of opioids until emergency medical care can arrive. Naloxone products can be purchased at local pharmacies without a prescription. With a prescription insurance may cover all or most of the cost. The following agencies are providing Naloxone free of charge (based on available supplies). Each agency will provide training on the use of the product.
